I am a lifelong photographer who began my career as a newspaper photojournalist. My photography work has included a wide variety of subjects and incorporating many photography methods and techniques. Some of my special projects have included a year long study of a brain injured boy, a night at a small town carnival, and volunteer work in which I serve as a photographer, including time spent at the Project Rescue Amazon Youth orphanage in Jacunda, Para and Tocantinopolis, Tocatins in Brazil. I have also spent countless hours photographing landscapes, and the interesting everyday moments that pop up during the course of the day.

My newest project has a working title of Message in a Bottle. It is discussed elesewhere on this website, but simply put it is an exploration of responses from a variety of individuals who are answering the following prompt: 

If you were stranded on a deserted island with no hope of being rescued, but had a single piece of paper, something to write with, and a bottle in which you could send the message out into the ocean in hopes humanity would one day discover it, what would be your last message to humanity? 

Of course, I do have other projects I am working on. I occassionally do small showings and I continue to build my landscape and daily encounters portfolios.  In trying to tie together a lifetime of work into a meaningful presentation, I dream of doing a book or an exhibit in a large, reputable art museum. That is my starting place. If I achieve that goal I would be thrilled. Experience has told me, however, that because I am much more interested in creating images than I am in marketing them, a more likely outcome will be a few exhibits in small venues such as coffee shops, libraries, or smaller art museums. My true hope is to connect with others, wherever that might be.
